Clear answers

Private PDF redaction, explained.

The important details about local processing, secure export, offline use, and website analytics.

Does localproof upload my PDF?

No. PDF bytes, searches, redactions, highlights, and watermarks stay in your browser’s temporary memory. localproof has no document-upload endpoint.

Are exported redactions permanent?

localproof renders the edited pages into a new flattened PDF. This burns in redactions and excludes the source text layer, forms, links, comments, attachments, and original metadata.

Can I use localproof offline?

Yes. After the first visit, the progressive web app can cache its application shell for offline use. Your PDF itself is never added to that cache.

What happens to my document when I close the tab?

The active document and editing state are discarded. localproof does not save PDF contents or a file history in local storage, IndexedDB, or cloud storage.

Does localproof use analytics?

There is no analysis or tracking of PDF contents. Optional website usage analytics are separate, disabled by default, and may only run after your consent.

Keep control

Gone when the tab closes.
